Latin America – The Happy Place!

A new survey from the Happy Planet Index suggests that Latin American countries are the happiest in the world, filling 9 of the top 10 positions, with Costa Rica topping the list. According to happyplanetindex.org

The Happy Planet Index reveals the ecological efficiency with which human well-being is delivered.

The index combines environmental impact with human well-being to measure the environmental efficiency with which, country by country, people live long and happy lives.

The UK and the US come way down the list at 74th and 114th respectively.

Although this survey measures a happiness index, its authors state that it is not an indicator on the best place to live, or where the people are happiest.
